“Country Girl” by Normand Hudon Oil on Board Painting 12×16
Original/Reproduction: Original Subject: Figures & Portraits Listed By: Dealer or Reseller Date of Creation: 1970-1989 Signed?: Signed Region of Origin: Canada Medium: Oil Size: 12″x16″ Normand Hudon: Caricaturist, painter, fantasist was born in Montreal 5 June 1929 and deceased in Montreal 8 Jan 1997. In the 1950’s, Hudon was showing his paintings and drawings in galleries and was becoming one of the most biting caricaturists. On 9 July 1965 he designed a cover for Time magazine and that year also prepared a huge composition for a pavilion at Expo 67. After a more difficult period, he began working seriously again in 1972 and in a few years had completed a body of work which treated, with tender irony, certain aspects of the Québec heritage: nuns on bicycles or priests on skates, mischievous children or picturesque villages, tip-tilted houses or shops, and court scenes that could rival those of Daumier.

2015 Canadian 50 Cent Owl – 1/25 oz Pure Gold Coin
PRICE ON REQUEST
Bubo scandiacus is known for its gorgeous white plumage and blazing yellow eyes. A study in physical adaptation, it is one of the world’s only diurnal owls, having evolved to thrive in the near-constant daylight of its Arctic breeding grounds. North America’s heaviest owl (adults weigh nearly 2 kilograms), the snowy owl carries the extra weight of thick, insulating layers of down and white feathers (even on its feet) that give it warmth and camouflage in its Arctic home. Its ears and black bill are almost entirely hidden beneath feathers to help it maintain body heat in cold temperatures.
Like all owls, the snowy owl’s eyes are fixed; it must swivel its head to shift its gaze. Its “binocular” vision allows the snowy owl to detect movement by even the smallest prey at great distances. Its eyes not only gather more light than human eyes, but have fields of vision that overlap to give it exceptional depth perception. The feathers around the sides of its head also help it to hunt by directing sound toward its ear drums.
The half-metre-tall snowy owl has few natural predators, except when it is young. It catches its prey in its claws by swooping down from the sky or from a perch. The snowy owl swallows its prey whole and later regurgitates indigestible fur and bones in pellet form. Its main food is the Arctic lemming, but it also feeds on mice, rats, hares, foxes, fish and small birds—which it can catch on the wing.
An affordable small gold coin, makes an ideal gift for someone who loves owls! Order yours today!

USA 1/10 Oz Gold 5 Dollars “American Eagle” 1986-2020
PRICE ON REQUEST
Initially released in 1986, the Gold American Eagle the United States’ official gold bullion coin. The Gold American Eagle comes in four different sizes and this is the smallest version of this coin. Weighing about a tenth of a troy ounce, it is more modestly-sized than a dime and has a face value of $5.
The Gold American Eagle was first produced as a result of 1985’s Gold Bullion Coin Act, which the United States Congress passed to allow the government to mint gold bullion coins similar to the Krugerrand, a South African gold bullion coin which had risen to global popularity.
The coin uses a 22 karat gold alloy which, prior to 1986, had not been featured in United States coins since 1984. This alloy has often been referred to as “crown gold.” This type of gold can be traced back to England during the reign of King Henry VIII, when it was used to provide more wear-resistant gold sovereign coins than the 23 karat gold coins that had previously been circulating in the country.
While this Gold American Eagle bullion coin is, through an inscription on the coin itself, declared to contain 1/10 on an ounce of fine gold, it actually includes – to be more precise – 0.1091 troy ounces of 91.7 percent pure gold. This level of purity, affected by the inclusion of alloyed copper and silver, is meant to give the coin better scuff-resistance.
This Gold American Eagle is, like every other version of this bullion coin, also noteworthy for its design. That design incorporates, on the obverse, the figure of Lady Liberty stepping forward while holding a torch in one hand and an olive branch in the other. This symbol has, for centuries, been used to symbolize peace in various Western countries.
When the sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens originally produced this design, the U.S. government’s intention was for national coins to bear a strong similarity to ancient Roman and Greek coins. This design of a walking Liberty debuted on what has become known as the Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle coin, which was minted from 1907 until 1933.
The Gold American Eagle coin’s reverse depicts another long-enduring symbol of the United States: a bald eagle. The most visually prominent eagle in the reverse design crafted by Miley Busiek is a male eagle in flight as it carries an olive branch before a female eagle who is in a nest with two eaglets.
The coin you receive may or may not be encapsulated, may or may not have a certificate, may or may not be in original mint packaging, and may or may not have evidence of visible handling. The coin you receive will most likely be different than the coin in the image above.
